The 2024 Annual Golf Classic was held on Friday the 24th of May in Edmondstown Golf Club.
We had 40 teams competing from early morning to dusk in decent weather conditions for good and competitive golf.

As usual, our hosts in Edmondstown gave us a warm welcome and presented us with the Golf Course in pristine condition.

In our new format of a Champagne Scramble, the House of Tiles team overcame all challengers with a winning score of 110 points, with just seven points separating the first six teams:

For the first time in the Golf Classic’s history, we celebrated the great achievement of a Hole in One by our Club Vice Chairman, John Ryan on the 8th hole. Comhghairdeas John.

The committee, Liam Deane, Susan McManus, Sean Moran, John Small, Shane Guest and Jack Nolan would like to thank all of those who contributed to making the day such a great success, particularly to Ned Slattery and Mick Farrell who assisted in the preparations.  A special mention to Orla Mc Cabe, Miriam Doyle, John Small and Liam Carter, who carried out the reception and starter duties diligently and cheerfully all day.

Thanks also to Captain Gerry Hiney, the management and staff of Edmondstown Golf Club and to Costello Catering for looking after us so well with a fantastic meal, which was enjoyed by all.

Most of all we would like to thank the participating teams, Sean Moran of TJ O’Mahony, Fiachra O’Connor of UPMC SSC and to our many kind sponsors for their continued support.

Please put Friday the 23rd of May in your diary for next years’ event.

Go raibh maith agaibh go léir.
Liam Deane & Jack Nolan.
