The club is saddened to report the recent passing of Paul Carroll – a man who rendered service in many areas of the club.

Like many others Paul began his association with the club through the juvenile section where he served with the likes of Eugene Kenny, John Mulligan, Noel Whelan, Matt Gannon and Des Kenny.  In 1999 they had the distinction of winning the U13 football league and brought home the Jim Fitzpatrick Cup (in honour of another ‘Boden  man Jim) in its inaugural year.

A quantity surveyor by profession, Paul hailed from Adrian Avenue, Harold’s Cross.  His professional skills were used to good effect as the club responded to the clubhouse fire in 2000. He served two periods on the Executive Committee from 1997 to 2000 and again from 2004 to 2006.

Paul was also Chair of the Bar Committee for a period and gave of his time to the Social Committee, the Senior Citizens Network and the Golf Society.  His most recent involvement was with the Drama Group when he was persuaded to try his hand at being a stressed TD in ” Drama at Inish”.  He went on from there to playing a northside thug in a comedy sketch.

The Club extends its deepest sympathy to his wife Rose, his family and friends.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé.
