Minor “A” C‐ship Semi‐Final – Pairc Ui Murchú – 2nd Dec. ‘18
BBSE 3 ‐ 12
Ballinteer St. Johns 2 ‐ 6
Our minor “A” girls qualified for the Minor “A” county final on Sunday morning with a good win over a gallant Johns side. Exchanges were uncompromising throughout, with every ball contested as if lives depended on it.
There was a gale blowing into the clubhouse end and Johns took advantage of it in the first half. Containment was the name of the game for our girls, and we were happy to go in on level terms at half time.
The second half produced more of the same, but we managed to open a slight gap with some impressive point‐taking backed by the breeze. However, as we expected, Johns did not give up and fought gamely, keeping the result in doubt until well into the closing stages.
After the final whistle thoughts immediately turned to the final in Abbotstown at 4.30 next Sunday. Crokes will provide the opposition there, after a hugely impressive semi‐final victory over Judes. This promises to be a massive contest between the two undefeated teams in the competition. Don’t miss it. The girls will need all the support as they attempt to bring home the title.
