U-16 Division 1 Championship Semi-Final – vs. Crokes – 13th October ‘18

Saturday in a wet Silver Park saw our gallant U-16 girls being undone by a couple of late goals. Although we led until about the last 5 minutes against a fancied Crokes side, a couple of unfortunate defensive lapses allowed Crokes to snatch the lead at the death. Nevertheless, with a minute to go we only trailed by a point and were pressing strongly for an equaliser, which would have been well deserved.
This was a brilliant performance by all our girls, to cap what has been a great and an enjoyable year, at the start of which they were not fancied to compete at the business end of the season. They were a great group
The girls have improved out of all recognition and there will certainly be better days ahead for all of them.
