U11 Camogie match report Friday 2nd June;

We travelled out to Pairc Naomh Uinsionn to play a camogie blitz against St Vincent’s on their main pitch. The matches as you would expect were very competitive. Our girls as always gave a very good account of themselves, showing fantastic skills & great teamwork. The girls showed all facets of the game from tackling, blocking, free taking & a range of very well taken scores. They took quick sideline balls to their team mates, their stick passing & hand passing was executed very well.

On team 1; Ciara Allen did exceptionally well in goals not conceding a score all night, and as a forward coverted some brilliant points. Excellent defending from Ruby Murphy, Lauryn Jennings & Gillian Mc Donald, the midfielders Rachel Vaughan, Rachel Heavey & Millie Larkin during both matches contributed handsomely to the score board & worked extremely hard never letting the Vincent’s girls settle on the ball. Our forwards in Grace Quinn, Caoilfhionn Roche & Kate Brosnan worked tirelessly during both games, converting very well taken goals & points.

On team 2; some excellent defending from Olivia O Brien, Eabha Ryan & Joy Ralph, kept Vincent’s to 1 score all night no mean feat considering how competitive the games were all evening. In midfield Ruby Cummins, Grace Callan & Rachel Lawlor worked very hard for their team all evening. The score of the evening came off a hand pass from Rachel Lawlor to Grace Callan who slotted a long distance point over the bar….. a fantastically worked team score. In the forward line we had great performances from Cara Cosgrove, Olivia Lacey & Charlie Murphy who all converted some excellent scores.

For their commitment on the bank holiday weekend, we had to reward the girls with some treats, I also have to mention the parents were a great support to all our girls on the night. It is also worth a mention as always Vincent’s were very good hosts on the night.

Later that evening the coaches reconvened to the pub to discuss all things Camogie……

Also a mention of our walking wounded currently out injured Emma Moran & Corrine Power. Wishing you both a speedy recovery.
