Hard Luck to the Dublin U17 Hurlers on their 1:19 to 1:17 defeat to Cork on Sunday. Following an impressive Leinster campaign the Dubs, including our own Kevin Desmond and Luke McDywer, had hoped to create history by being crowned the Inaugural All-Ireland U17 Hurling Champions. Following an impressive Leinster campaign, the U17 Leinster Champions received a walkover from Antrim in the previous weekend’s All-Ireland semi-final. The Dubs showed great spirit on the day and kept working to the limit despite operating with 14 men from the 43rd minute however their efforts were narrowly thwarted by the Leesiders with Cork running out winners 1:19 to 1:17.

Dublin will look to avenge this defeat to some degree when they face Cork in the minor semi-final in next weekend’s curtain-raiser in Croke Park. Many of the U17 panel are also on the minor panel. We wish them the Best of Luck.
