Weekend round up

The bad weather disrupted the start of the AFL last weekend but the momentum was kept going through

challenge games with the Seniors, Inters and Junior A’s all in action. The Seniors faced Ballymun out in

IT Blanchardstown and with both teams missing their County players it was another chance for our

young players to impress. It was a good run out and, thanks to some heroic defensive work by the Boden

backs and goalkeeper in the second half, ended even stevens at 1-13 apiece. The Inters were up against

Oliver Plunketts in Sancta Maria and although defeated took a lot of positives from the game ahead of their

league opener next Sunday.

The Junior A’s took on Civil Service in Islandbridge in a very competitive and sporting game.

Boden started the quicker scoring 2-04 to 0-02 by half time but the home team finished strongly,

landing 5 unanswered points in the last 15 minutes, to win the game 1-11 to 2-05.

Sigerson – Congrats to Bobby O’Sullivan, Robbie McDaid and Ryan Basquel on their involvement

with UCD and their victory over DCU to qualify for the latter stages of the Sigerson cup next weekend.

Likewise to Michael Darragh on his involvement with Maynooth College. You all remain on target to

meet in the final!! Hard luck to Darren O’Reilly and DIT on their exit to Jordanstown in the same competition.

Railway Cup – Hard luck to Michael Darragh and to Leinster on their narrow loss to Ulster in a high

scoring game that went to extra time. Final score Ulster 2-26 (32) Leinster 3-21 (30)

Adult Football League

The first round of League fixtures will be played at a later date so (weather permitting) we move on

to the second round and a crunch local derby with the Seniors facing neighbours St.Judes in

Tymon Park at 10.30am on Sunday. The Inters and Junior A’s have home advantage against

Ballyboughal and Erins Isle rspectively while the Junior B’s travel to Malahide to face St.Sylvesters.
