Minor Hurlers out of the blocks
The Minor A team began their league campaign with a win over St. Judes at Sancta Maria. Playing against the wind in the first half the Boden defence withstood a strong performance from Jude’s forward lines. Goalkeeper Andrew Lyons made some courageous saves ensuring Boden stayed in touch. Boden made the most of their chances and were rewarded with two goals from Evan McDonnell and Rory Knight and went in to the break leading by a point 2-2 to 0-7.
Boden controlled the second half with the aid of the strong wind. Garrett Crowley was on target knocking over two 65’s and a free. Ciarán O’Brien put over two points from play and got on the end of a cross field ball from Cian Kelly to bat it to the Judes net. Evan McDonnell added on two more points while Darragh Maguire pointed one from the middle of the field. A good all round team performance.
