Go Ahead AHL 4

Baile Buadáin Naomh Éanna 3 16  Clanna Gael Fontenoy 4 11

Bhí bua maith ag an bhfoireann Idirmheánach sa chéad bhabhta den tSraith Dé Domhnaigh i gcoinne CLG Clanna Gael Fontenoy i bPáirc Uí Mhurchú. Agus ceithre fhoireann ag imirt an lá céanna, bhí brú ó thaobh uimhreacha de, agus bhí ar Ronan Sharkey, Eoin McKenna, Gareth Crowley , Seán O Donnell, Cillian Kirwan agus Ruairi Hestor feistiú chun cluiche faoi dhó. In Crowley’s case, togging out for the Senior B’s provided the perfect warm up for a man of the match performance for the Inters, finishing with a personal tally of 0-8. The other feature of the match was the energetic performances from recent first-time dads, Alan McGrath and James Enright, who proved that sleep deprivation is no barrier to hurling.  Four-week-old Bonnie McGrath attended her first game in her boden jersey, along with mam Hannah, and granny Helen!

Thosaigh Baile Buadáin go tapaidh agus luas deas leis an imirt. Points from Crowley (poc saor), Lambert, Coffey and Crowley from play had Boden off to a flying start. A well-worked team goal from Owen Wiggleworth and Boden were well in control agus sé chúilín chun tosaigh at leathama, 1-11 go 1-5. However, a proud club like Clanna Gael Fontenoys, founded in 1968 through the amalgamation of the Fontenoys (founded in 1892) and Clanna Gael (founded in 1929) were not to lie down easily, and despite being 9 points down at one stage in the second half, following great individual goals from Ben Kelly and Chris Lambert, they came storming back into the game with a three-goal blitz. Ba ghéar an choimhlint sa dara leath agus ní raibh ach cúilín amháin idir na foirne agus cúig nóiméad fágtha.  Bhí sé ina chath ceart ag an bpointe seo. However, a fine brace of points from Josh Corcoran from 70m and sweet-striking James Enright lifted the siege.

Ballyboden had fine performances all around the pitch. Goalie Ronan Sharkey had no chance with the four green flags. Aaron Coffey was on top of the ground and bagged three fine points from play as well as a good assist for Wiggy’s goal. Eoin McKenna worked his socks off. Others to impress were the afore-mentioned Crowley, who was meticulous from placed balls, and Josh Corcoran, a rinne obair na gcapall sa dara leath. Chris Lambert looked dangerous all through.  Subs Barton, O’ Donoghue, Kirwan, O’Donnell and O’Riordan all contributed to a fine win.

Beidh player-manager Des O’ Sullivan sásta leis an mbua ach tá obair fós le déanamh ag Mick Keville leis an bhfoireann chun dul chun cinn a dhéanamh ag an leibhéal seo.

Laoch na hImeartha: Garret Crowley

Ár mbuíochas leis na maoir chúil Dan Nugent agus Tim Sweeney agus ár mbuíochas freisin le Susan Creed who ensures that this is the best fed team in the club.

Táimid ag súil go mór leis an dara cluiche  i gcoinne CLG Emmett Bhré i gceann coicíse.
