Result: 1-12 to 1-12

In good conditions for a change in Ballycullen, Ballyboden Junior A footballers played out an exciting draw against Na Fianna. An outstanding defense , with Fionn Maguire, Cian Murray and Dean O Donnell to the fore, set the foundation for the home team’s performance. The game itself ebbed and flowed throughout with Na Fianna getting off to the better start scoring the first 2 points. Two scores, one from Damien Kenny and the other, a 45′ from Evan Flanagan, brought the home team back into the game. Na Fianna then scored 3 points without reply until Damien Kenny and Ruairi Kirwin both took well taken points. The teams then exchanged goals with Ballyboden conceding first only to bounce back with excellent work from Cian Murray and Evan Flanagan getting the ball into Liam Flaherty who blasted the ball to the net.

The second half was equally as competitive and entertaining. With Damien Kenny in great form from frees and both Ruairi Kirwin and Liam Flaherty scoring goods points, it looked like Boden would edge it but two long range points from the Na Fianna centre half forward brought them back on equal terms to the end of the game.

Best wishes to Dean O Donnell, his wife and their beautiful daughter Lily whom are returning to the US from all the Junior A squad and mentors.
