Monday 26th July 2021, Pairc Uí Mhurchú

The Minor League Ladies Football Division 1 competition reached its conclusion on a calm Monday evening in Pairc Uí Mhurchú.

The title was to be decided with a playoff between the winners of the 2 x 4 team groups. Ballyboden had defeated Lucan, Kilmacud and Foxcab to get there and they had seen Clontarf rack up huge scores in their 3 group victories so a tight encounter was expected.

Our minor girls however never gave Clontarf a chance with a goal in the first minute setting the scene followed by another few goals and a few points in the following 5 minutes to pretty much end the match as a contest. In fact, it was nearly 20 minutes before Clontarf registered a score.

The Boden forwards were clinical in converting their chances and when Clontarf did break up the pitch they were stopped by some super defending and goalkeeping.

All in all this was a super performance from not just the team on the day but also from the players missing through holidays and injury along with the U16 girls who had helped out throughout the competition slotting in to fill gaps.

A few weeks break and it will all resume again with Minor Championship and based on the evidence of tonight the Boden girls will be confident in their chances.

Final Result: Ballyboden St. Endas 9-17  Clontarf 0-05
