Our Minor B team finished their league with a win over Clontarf in Sancta Maria on Wednesday 24th July at 7.30pm. Boden were first of the mark with two well pointed frees from Roan Dooley. Clontarf’s central line dominated the first half where their centre forward, midfielders and centre back knocked up a score of 1g-8pts before the break. Conor Dean ensured we stayed in touch when he followed a high ball into the square and punished Clontarf with a goal from a quick reaction strike to a save from the keeper. Darragh Maguire and Darragh Gogan followed up with a point each and Boden went into the break 4 points down. True to form Boden started the second half with a determined effort taking control of every position. The defence limited Clontarf to scoring three points, 2 of which came from frees. Boden scored 2 -8 in the second half with fine points from Conor Dean, Ronan Dooley, Darragh Maguire and Garrett Crowley. Brian Kirwan fielded a high ball outside the 20m line and drilled it to the top corner of the net. In the closing minute, corner forward, Thomas O’Connor worked hard to send a sliotar across the goal where indecision in the small square allowed Patrick O’Meara to finish the game with a goal.
