Senior B vs Naomh Padraig 7th April 2022
We left it behind us were the words being muttered among the players after the final whistle. Conceding 5 goals gave the impression the game was somewhat out of reach, however, the reality was that Boden were more or less matching the opposition score for score throughout the game. The difference between the teams came down to scoring goals and we were unable to find the net as often as Naomh Padraig, not least due to a wonderful performance from their goalkeeper who stopped shot after shot in both halves, surely a deserved winner of player of the match.
Despite getting off to the better start and scoring the first 4 points of the game, at half-time Boden trailed 4:01 to 5 points and the team chat among the team was honest and open and established a belief this game was still there for the taking. Holding N. Padraig to a single score (another goal) in the 2nd half, the girls worked hard for their tally of 2:01, but it was not enough to get them over the line.

This will be a game to rue given the amount of possession and territorial advantage Boden had at times. There will be better days ahead.
