Junior A Shield Semi Final. Ballyboden St Endas vs Raheny, Sunday 24th October 2021. St Annes No. 10 at 1pm

Senior B Ladies Shield Semi Final Oct 2021

Ballyboden Senior B ladies travelled across the city to St Annes Park last Sunday afternoon to play Raheny in the Junior A Championship shield semi final. Coincidentally the game was a repeat of the same stage of the competition last year!Ballyboden started brightly with points from the boot of Chloe Murphy and a goal from Julie Vaughan establishing a quick 1-03 lead. Thanks to further points from Julie and Chloe, our ladies were leading 1-06 to 1-02 at the 1st water break. They say goals win games as Julie helped herself to another goal before half time with further points from Chloe and Alice Rudden adding to the half time score of 2-08 to 1-06.

The message from the sideline in the interval was clear… ‘work the ball into the scoring positions’. A cagey 1st 15 mins of the 2nd half ensued and only a point was added to the scoreline by Boden in this period, again from Julie. Changes in personnel saw converted cornerback to half forward Beth Molloy introduced with Beth scoring a goal and a point soon followed by a lovely move which ended with Shauna Feely finding the net. Further Chloe points and a point for Cathy O`Neill had us run out winners 4-12 to 1-09. From 1 to 20, all contributed to the victory with fine saves from Danielle in goal, excellent defending from Aoife, Una and Kristine in the full back line assisted by half backs Rachel, Hannah and Cliodhna, midfield running from Alice and Katie Q supported by Maeve helped set up the forwards for their scores. Big thanks to Kieran Rudden for the support with the minor players.

All roads now lead to Naomh Barróg next Sunday afternoon for the Shield Final. Good Luck girls. Boden Abú.
