Saturday was a magnificent day and the Boden girls were outstanding.  Drenched in Spring sunshine with a large crowd in support the girls got off to a flyer by narrowly beating Faughs.  The second game did not go as well with the eventual finalists, Kilmacud Crokes, coming out on top.  It all came down to the final game against St Finians who came into the game on the back of two wins.  A semi-final place was at stake and it’s safe to say that our young girls rose to the occasion and played their best game ever in a Boden jersey.  Well on top throughout the first half and a 4 point lead at the break did not reflect the play and effort put in.  That narrow lead proved costly in the end as the game swung both ways in the second half with Finians putting up a strong fight to level the scoreboard with 5 minutes to go.  Boden had a few chances to score but some dogged defending and no break of the ball kept them out and a late point for Finians was simply heartache.

A semi-final was not to be but a truly fantastic and enjoyable day.  Great memories to take away for the girls who gave it everything so no regrets.  Mentors and parents were very very proud of them on the day.
