Sancta Maria – synthetic pitch

Contracts have been awarded after approval from the Department of Arts, Sports and Tourism relating to the Lottery funding.  The main civil works will be carried out by Liffey Developments; carpet to be provided by Field Turf; lights to be provided by Musco Lighting; fencing to be provided by Rogers Fencing.

Work is due to start on Tuesday, 7th May with an overall contract period of 3 to 4 months. The pitch should be playable in August/September.

Sancta Maria – prunty grass pitch

This is expected to be playable by September.  A barrier will be provided around the pitch. Netting will be provided at each end.

Due to a complaint from a resident in Templeroan, South Dublin County Council has directed that the height of the bank on the Sancta Maria school side of the pitch be reduced to one metre. Work is to start on this immediately.

Sancta Maria dressing rooms

As the dressing rooms will be built in an area with preserved buildings, it is likely to take many months to obtain planning permission. The pitches are likely to be ready for play before the dressing rooms are available. In that eventuality, we expect to have changing facilities available with toilets but without showers.

We have applied for funding under the Sports Capital Programme (lottery funding) for the dressing rooms.

Ballycullen

We have applied for planning permission for a smaller building and await the Council’s decision (due on 7th May – unless further information is sought). In the meantime we ask players and supporters to avoid parking in the local estates as this is causing difficulties for our neighbours.

Páirc Úí Mhurchú

It is necessary to replace the nets behind the goals as the constant need to repair them is very expensive. Replacement will also be expensive but we have little choice in the matter.  We intend to repair the goalmouths in Páirc Úí Mhurchú using the systhetic material that will be used in Sancta Maria.
